Wyoming Public Library Register online for summer reading starting June 1! Beanstack is the library’s web-based Summer Reading Rewards Program software. It allows you to track your minutes and challenges just like you have in the past, but you no longer need to keep track of your paper logs. Read and complete challenges this summer to win prizes. You will earn 3 virtual tickets for each hour you read and each activity you complete. Use these tickets for drawings. You will also earn 1 Reading Rewards Ticket for each hour you read and each activity you complete. Reading Rewards Tickets can be picked up at the library and used to buy prizes August 1-8. The 1000 Books Before Kindergarten is also available through the Beanstack software and soon the Beyond 1000 Books Before Kindergarten will be as well.
The Ross & Elizabeth Monticello Public Library will be reopening to the public on Tuesday, June 23rd, by appointment. For the safety of our staff and library patrons, access and services will be limited, and new procedures will be in place. The library will offer access to the library by appointment on Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday from 10am -5pm (final appointment starts at 4pm) and Thursday 2pm - 6pm (final appointment starts at 5pm). You are encouraged to arrive a few minutes early. We will continue to offer curbside services Monday – Friday from 10 am to 5 pm. To ensure we are following guidelines provided by the Governor and providing space for social distancing, appointments will be available for no more than 45 minutes and visitors will be allowed to stay in the library for no longer than their scheduled appointment. Appointments will be scheduled on the hour. Library doors will remain locked. Upon arrival, exit your vehicle and line up on the sidewalk around the memorial wall, following the six foot social distance guidelines. A staff member will open the doors and allow entry to the library. Everyone is asked to sanitize their hands upon entering and is encouraged to wear a mask. Due to social distancing, only 2 public access desktop computers will be available. Up to 4 laptops (either library provided or personal devices) will also be available for use in the library in designated locations. Only two people will be allowed per computer. Up to 12 individuals wishing to browse the library collection will be allowed in the library at one time. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a responsible party age 16 or older. Groups of up to 3 people may come in together and must remain together while browsing. There is a limit of 1 group per aisle while browsing our collection. Patrons will also be able to make appointments for faxing, scanning and copying, reading newspapers and connecting with staff about the summer library programs. A variety of measures which are designed to reduce contact, especially prolonged contact, with library staff and other members of the public will be in place. Library staff will wear masks (when outside of the staff workroom) and visitors are encouraged to wear them as well. We are setting up a nearly touch-less circulation process, users will check out items themselves and a receipt will be provided. Staff will not assist visitors at the computers or in the shelves at this time, but can be consulted at the service desk. Materials may be returned in the exterior drop box at any time or by notifying staff of the return (for items that don’t fit or shouldn’t be returned in the drop box). Returned items will continue to be quarantined for a minimum of 72 hours. Please call the library, beginning Wednesday, June 17th, to make an appointment, for curbside service, or for more information at 319-465-3354.
